Twenty-fifth day. Kanoe tora. ¹ Clear weather. During the Hour of the Snake {10 a.m.-12 p.m.}, I went before His Majesty. There was a royal viewing ² of grappling today. ³ On this occasion, I wore my formal dress and presented myself to His Majesty behind the bamboo blinds. The advisor on the Council of State, Middle Captain [Minamoto no] Kunizane attended His Majesty. The bout of grappling ended and I retired [from the palace]. After that, some said there was also a viewing at the Right Headquarters of the Inner Palace Guards. ⁴
