The twenty-ninth day, kanoe tora. The weather was clear. Today at the Hour of the Tiger {3-5 am}, [Morozane] took Buddhists vows. Dharma Seal (Hōin) Kakushin was summoned and ordered as follows: [Morozane] should take the precepts. Therefore, he should tell Kasuga shrine about this decision. Ninkaku was abbot of the temple who conferred the precepts and monk Zennin was the chanter. I and everyone below me attended Morozane, including the commissioner of the household. I heard that they followed the procedure of Ujidono [Fujiwara no Yorimichi]. During that time I heard there were many prayers.

廿九日、庚寅、天晴、今日寅剋御出家、召法印覺信被仰云、可出家、仍向春日方可申其之由、唄御戒師山座主仁覺、唄禪仁、此［間］予以下皆悉候御前、中宮大夫同、事次第宇治殿例云々、此間御祈多々云々。

廿九日。庚寅かのえとら 。天晴れ。今日寅とらの剋に御出家す。法印ほういん覺信かくしんを召し、仰おおせられて云く「 出家すべし。仍って春日の方に向かいて、その由を申すべし」。御戒師おんかいし山座主やまのざす仁覺にんかく、 唄ばいは禪仁ぜんにん。 この［間］予よ以下皆悉ことごとく御前ごぜんに候こうず。 中宮大夫同じ。事の次第宇治殿うじどの［藤原頼通よりみち］の例と云々。この間御祈おんいのり多々たたと云々。
