康和二年二月廿二日 Kōwa 2 {1100} 2.22
Translated by Kiko Yamashita
Twenty-second day. Clear day.
At the early Hour of the Dragon {7-9 a.m.}, I soaked in a saltwater bath. Later I set out for the capital at the Hour of the Sheep {1-3 p.m.}. I arrived at the palace at the Hour of the Rooster {5-7 p.m.}. For some reason, today my tired ox wandered into the {imperial} consort’s [Atsushi] stable {and stayed there}. Sir Tokinori investigated the situation {of the ox}, then summoned the yin-yang diviner [Kamono] Mitsuhira and then left him to care for the ox in question. Then Mitsuhira performed the divination {healing ritual}. There were no other things to record {for the day}.
